World Skills India competition
WorldSkills is a global phenomenon: multi-faceted, multi-cultural, committed, and socially responsible. It is also a global movement – collaborative, consequential, and making positive change on individual, local and worldwide levels.
The WorldSkills holds skill competition every two years and is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world that truly reflects global industry. The Competitors represent the best of their peers and are selected from skill competitions in WorldSkills Member countries and regions. Aim of holding these skill competition is to expose youth to a variety of skilled careers and equip them with the tools and resources they need to build a future.
World Skills India is an initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India. NSDC, has been leading the country’s participation at World Skills International competitions since 2011.
Key objectives of this initiative are to promulgate skills in society to motivate the youth to pursue vocational education and champion skills. Journey to World Skills Competitions
In India, the State Governments identify the relevant skills and conduct the district and zonal competitions in each state to select the best skilled person from their respective states. The state champions are called for regional competitions where they show their skills. After the regional competitions, the top scorer makes it to the IndiaSkills Competitions i.e National Competitions. National Competition winners get special training to compete in WorldSkills Competition.
ESSC Entrepreneurship Sector Skill Council is supporting World Skills India team in organizing the Skills competition at multiple levels for the following Skills: CNC Turning CNC Milling Welding M-CAD Plastic Die Engineering Industrial Mechanic Millwright Manufacturing Team Challenge.
